She gets teh memory wipe zomg?

But yeah, we're heading for a complete raping of the end of season 2. Well, beyond what they did with the insertion of Tate into it in the first place.

I thought Lynx and Styre were tallish as well. Not as tall as the Doctor, but taller than Sarah.

Of course, I don't know how tall Martha is, either.

If it is set last year they'll need to explain why she seems to have piled a few pounds on.

Random tangent: Tha call girl thing is up for a soft core porn award...

Oh the best thing about the location pics is that they're all blurry meaning the guy who took them was hugely abused online for faking them till the beeb made the anouncement.

SPOILER! (select to read)
Which makes you wonder why they bothered to make the announcement at all. They could have kept their big mouths shut about it and left it as a rumor. Instead they get it out there within 24 hours, basically stating simply that she's coming back without stating obvious things we as fans need to know, like how, in what context, for how long, and why bothering at all.

And I think the reason for that is because they don't want to let it out quite yet that the next Classic Who element they're bringing back/raping alongside the Sontarans is Davros.

It's bad enough Rose is coming back at all. If that's the reason, fandom's gonna go nuclear.

Except that a tabloid hack would have been along the next night to take some decent pictures that would have blown it anyway. Seriously, there seems to be a policy at The Sun that on a slow news day they just go onto OG and print whatever rumour is doing the rounds as fact. "Dennis Hopper is Davros!" "Kylie is the Tardis!" "Everyones been sacked!"

They still could have played the "It's Just A Rumor" card. So she was on the set. Big deal. Doesn't mean that she was coming back, right?

Of course, that would require some amount of sense on the part of the guys who run the show. And that doesn't seem to be something they have in abundance these days.

On set, in costume, in front of the cameras, taking direction...

The best bet would have been to do what they did with the Daleks two years ago and just not have any scenes with non-CGI ones on location. I guess that proved impossible.

The production team handled this fine. No way it was going ot be a secret, so they don't deny it. Why bother lying about it? Once the pictures are out it's obvious, claiming it's a rumour would have simply made the production team look stupid and like they thought fans were gullible tits incapable of thinking for themselves. Oh boo ****ing hoo they haven't told everyone the context and reason. I'm guessing that's where the ****ing episode comes into play. Why do "we as fans" need to know this sort of stuff ahead of airing? "Well, the reason opener's going to be called 'Remembrance of the Daleks'. Now that we know there's Daleks in it, they might as well print the entire ****ing script in the paper"?!?

Well if they had the Sun might remember the Daleks could go up stairs before the new show...

Interestingly the BBC have put out a statement denying rumours of a Tate/Pipper fued, which as odd as no one seems to have heard these rumours before the Beeb put that statement out...

EDIT: Out of curiousity, is there anyone reading this who doesn't know what we're talking about in the spoiler boxes? I was wandering if anyone had avoided it...

I'm not fussed by stuff as broad as "Actor A will be in the series". More specific spoilers and I'd steer clear - personally I feel when these start to emerge, we'd be best suited to a two-thread set-up. But this one people aren't going to be popping into on a regular basis until the special airs, so it's not such a worry.

Yeah, there's a huge difference between cast spoilers and "X actor will be reprising the role of Y character in Z episodes, set in N locations".
SPOILER! (select to read)
So... how many companions do we need to make the full New Who set for s4? Jack and Mickey? There's absolutely no way this is going to collapse under the weight of its own smug self-referentialism is there?

I say they go for broke and bring K-9 back as well. That way Mickey'll have somebody to talk to. Who won't be hitting on him. :D Not so much a TARDIS as Grand Central Station......

Well, Rose might always bring Mickey with her, Barrowman's confirmed he was in it before we knew about Rose (he's also revealed that Torchwood season 3 is already to go in June)... If they do the spin-off Mash then I can see the Sarah in there as well...

Perhaps Adam will be the super villain?
The "Big returning villain" thread about the Sontarans can serve fors poilers when the time is right. I'm wondering if they'll rush some of the stuff they've taped this week through the "Filimisation" process so they can stick it in the coming soon trailer?

EDIT: And the BBC will be showing edited episodes of Torchwood season 2 a couple of days after the main broadcast so the kids can watch it. The ultimate in missing the point...

I can see it now. Coming on your screens for the first pre-watershed showing of the first episode of Torchwood season 2.....

Jack's VO: Torchwood. etc, etc. -with montage-

Gwen: "So why did the PM send us off to Peru again?"

Toshi: "I thought it was the Himylaias, to go Yeti-hunting."

Owen: "BLEEEEEEEEEP!"

-screen goes black, followed by the BBC logo and an announcer's voice, saying- "That's all we can show you in this timeslot. Please tune in next week at this time for more of the same. Or set your DVR's for the regular timeslot for Torchwood. You probably know swear words that we can't even think about saying on-screen post watershed anyway."

I guess they'll have to compensate for the lack of gratuitous sex and swearing by the inclusion of actual plots then, won't they?

Gosh, whatever next.

I'm sure that meeting went well...

"**** -- Tennant's not available most of next year. Cut some of the ****ing swearing out of this and we'll replace the bits with John Barrowman getting his end away with soldiers with Eve Myles and extra-terrestrial lesb...uh, thespians..."

To be fair Gwen's the only character who seemingly wasn't bisexual. She only snoged a woman when under alien influence...

Wonder if they'll do the same for a re-run of the first series? Can see that going down about as well as Plato's Stepchildren...

edit: Having actually seen Time Crash now, I enjoyed it. Don't think I've ever seen any Davidson episodes.
